The illustration above is a distribution map of where Boothbys live in this country. The dark blues are where very few are. If you follow the more populated states as they sweep across the country, you will see the route of my family's emigration. They left Maine in the early 1800's and went first to Ohio. They put some roots down there, as evidenced by the high number of Boothbys that still live there. They passed through Illinois at about the time of the Civil War, and then went on to Oregon, being among the original Settlers there |
